Research TrainingThe Menzies School of Health Research (MSHR) is committed to increasing the opportunities
available for postgraduate training for health professionals and for health
education and training for Aboriginal people and the wider Northern Territory
community.
The research and education programs of MSHR are particularly concerned
with Aboriginal health issues, health in rural and remote areas and in tropical
diseases.
The academic standing of the Menzies School of Health Research was originally
derived from its status as an extramural department of the Faculty of Medicine
of the University of Sydney. Since then, our postgraduate students have enrolled
at a number of other universities including the Charles Darwin University, Flinders University of South Australia, and the Universities of NSW, Melbourne and Adelaide. Student research projects cover
a broad scope from molecular biology to population health and health policy.
Postgraduate research students are supervised by senior staff of MSHR
and external supervisors when appropriate.
