Overview of MSHR involvement in project:

This project aims to identify the systematic barriers to care for Indigenous people suffering heart disease in Alice Springs. This will be achieved by a streamlined process of quantitative and qualitative methodologies aimed at exploring key points of departure from evidence based care, the quality of care through hospital and consumer perspectives of the care experience. Identified barriers will serve as the stimulus for and target of system based approaches to improvement in care for those with acute heart disease.

MSHR input is wide-ranging, from project staff training, the development of the quantitative and qualitative methodologies through to engagement of the health system and key stakeholders in quality improvement initiatives.

Funding Body:

Centre for Remote Health, CRC Aboriginal Health

2004-2005
