We propose to run a number of short courses in 2004, the completion of which may be credited to the coursework program. Students will be informed as early as possible of the subjects and timing of the short courses.

Workshop in Scientific Communication: presented by distinguished author Elisabeth Heseltine. Offered to MSHR research students only.

10 - 11 June

Evidence-based Clinical Practice Workshop: The Australian Centre for Evidence-Based Clinical Practice (based at Flinders University) will be bringing their highly regarded 2 day workshop to Darwin. Presented by Paddy Phillips (Professor of Medicine)and Ruth Sladek (Medical Librarian). See flyer and program above

4 -8 September

14 - 15 October

Introduction to Health Information and Health Research: presented in conjunction with the Centre for Remote Health in Alice Springs

Presented by Epidemiologists Assoc Prof Joan Cunningham and Dr John Condon (MSHR) and available to students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Public Health and external participants.
